Mike and Claire have been at the pub for over a year now and have made it the hub of the village again.
Former front of house manager of the year winner Mike Champion & his wife Claire, along with their rosette award winning chefs Jamie & Louise, they have crafted a menu to suit most pallets. With Baguettes & Sandwiches at lunch along with pub classics and full A La Carte alongside a constantly changing specials board and a delicious Sunday lunch menu you will not want for much at The Lion.
We love this building, it is a proper old fashioned village pub nestled in the heart of a lovely semi rural community. Sitting literally on the Essex / Cambridgeshire border the pub is easily accessible from both counties and is not far from junction 9 of the M11.
We serve great pub food and have takeaway Tuesday’s, Steak Friday’s and a fantastic Sunday lunch!

Community Hub
The Pub is the hub of the community here in Ickleton, and we have created a warm and welcoming environment for all to come and enjoy. We host many cyclists, ramblers, dog walkers, not to mention our local villagers, so pop in and pay us a visit.
